Humanities and S.T.E.A.M.
In addition to regular STEAM competitions (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) and online learning, PGCHS also students participate in an interdisciplinary humanities curriculum that encompasses English, U.S. Government, Civics, World History, and Geography. Topics change each grading period to reflect current events and student interests, and assignments range from debates about government policy, to in-depth research and presentations that debunk common conspiracy theories. We use the New York Times, Scholastic Magazine, Channel 1 News, and a variety of other media to expose students to a wide range of viewpoints, and to encourage students to become active citizens in the democratic process.
