College Info
MPC Dual Enrollment: Starting the summer after their Sophomore year, Junior and Senior students at PGCHS are encouraged todual enroll in courses at Monterey Peninsula College. This is a wonderful and challenging way for students to get a jump start on earning a college degree (with the support of their PGCHS teachers), as well to make up missing credits, and even graduate from high school early.
Most academic courses at MPC require that students take MPC placement assessments in both English and math. Visit the MPC website (Student Services section) for more information on exam score requirements (http://mpc.edu/student-services/core-services/assessment-testing).
Click on these attachments to review the MPC English and mathematics sequences and find out exactly where students need to place on the two required exams. Classes that are worth college credit begin at course Level 4 for English, and at Math 10-18. Using the study materials provided by MPC is highly encouraged.
Please visit the links provided, schedule an appointment with PGCHS staff, and/or contact the MPC Counseling Department for help with developing a dual enrollment course load. The MPC counselors can be reached at 831.646.4020.
